Pacific Islands News Association (PINA)
PINA is the main professional association of the Pacific Islands news media and is the only voice of the regional media across the Pacific. PINA links radio and TV stations, newspapers, magazines, online services, national associations of news media practitioners and journalism schools across 23 Pacific Island countries and territories. Providing news updates three times daily, Monday to Friday, PINA reports extensively on events in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, French Polynesia, Cook Islands, Guam, Hawaii, Kiribati, Marianas, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Nauru, New Caledonia, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu. PINA is a non-profit cooperative in official relations with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO). PINA is the Pacific Island member of IFEX, the global network of organisations promoting media freedom, and is also a member of the Council of Asia and Pacific Press Institute (CAPPI). « Back
